GREED Black Border PC Review

A space-shoot-hash as to Space Siege, the game is very standard, shoot everything in sight, collect loots, trading and upgrade your amour/weapon, shoot some more to progress. Visual is pretty decent, but the control feel awkward at time, shoot and move are the same left mouse click, they should look at the way Alien Shooter 2 configure. WASD for the movement, while the left mouse is for firing. The camera shift and pan while you move your WASD key. There are moment in the game while you want to shoot the enemy but end up walking toward the enemy, as you left click on the area and issue a move command rather than attack. Dodging is not very effective as it the same as Space Siege, you hardly can dodge any income hit.
Well If you can get pass the movement glitches, then you might enjoy the game as it progress. But I will give Shadowgrounds Survivor a thumb up to this title.

A Farewell to Dragons PC Review

This started off as a solid game, very unique story line, you are a present doctor/dentist that are drag into a mid-world by a 13 yrs old teen-girl, who also a mage that helps you on the quest and fall in love with you along the way(with a 13 yr old girl??). the story slowly develop while you destiny seems to clear, you either become a Dragon Slayer or the Dragon itself that destroy the Mid-world, the choice is your. Top-notch visual presentation, different choice of weapons, it a combine of both fantasy and present world, you get your usual sword, axe, bow and arrow, but also revolver, machine gun & chain saw. Combat is the same as Dragon Age Origins, pause and issue command to your party to launch spell/attack, combat can get very intense as you are always 1 or 3 levels lower than you enemies. "Grinding" is possible by sleeping/rest at a "Bad" area, wake up and you are surrounded by baddies. But the game is very un-polish with technical flaw, character get stuck in wood, rock etc, enemies freeze in the path while attacking you, and certain items are unclear on their usage, it crushed the game with no reason. It look to be a alternative to Dragon Age Origins, but it not. Although the navigation/camera work it much better than DAO, but it just dose not save the day with those technical bugs/errors. Wait for a patch before purchase it.

Risen PC Review

Another RPG with a Dragon theme, it very similar to Divinity 2, but it all happen on a island. It not fair to compare this game to Dragon Age but to The Witcher, as it a solo hero act rather than party/team base quest. There are no cutting-edge visual technology here. Risen's world offers no visual surprises, combat are not directly in your control and you feel very awkward and frustrating at time. To suck in 70 or more hours to a game like this is just not worth it, I give up after 4 hrs of "message boy" errand/quest!

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis PC Review

This release launch almost in the same time as Bioware Dragon Age Origins, which I think is a wrong marketing move or they are trying to cash in the Christmas rush. The story line is pretty standard, save the world and ride as a Dragon. But there is too much technical glitches that justify a purchase. I do not know about the Xbox version, but the PC version require a high-end machine just to perform a so-so out-dated graphic. As compare to Dragon Age Origins, the Bioware engine is definitely much refine and better than D2. D2 need to get it engine tweaked and optimize to perform better in a low-end machine. With the same PC spec. I am able to run Dragon Age Origins with no lag, but D2 simply just refuse to perform even at a low setting. Play it if you have spare time, if not stick with Dragon Age Origins.

Using Daemon Tool in Windows 7

Finally, got my hand on Windows 7 OEM version.

First thing to get Daemon tools working..grab both Daemon lite/Pro version from the offical web site http://www.daemon-tools.cc.

Run the Pro version first, you will be prompt to reboot/restart, do it so that the SPTD for the Pro version will be installed.

After restart, cancel the installation of the Pro version. Run the lite version and you are all done.

And ignore the compatibility message when reboot or choose not to auto start the Daemon Tool, mount image when required.

绝命派对 Invitation Only - Anyone watch it?

绝命派对 as the name indicate, a party that take your life, but the storyline is so unreal, a batch of rich guy host a party to torture and kill 'normal' or 'not so rich' people, where is the logic in it?

The script writer must have hate the rich people so much, that he/she decide that all rich people are mad and jealous of 'normal' people, so they decided to kill them for fun, come on, I not a rich person, but I do not think people who are rich act in this way, furthermore, they have so much to lose if they do so, they have to be insane to commit what they do in the movie, and giving the chance to lose everything if they are caught.

OK, pretty girl, great body, some cool death/torture scenes and a bad ending, that all for the movie, no wonder is not show in Singapore. CORRECTION: It is now showing in Singapore!

Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray

Finally, Blu-ray version of the Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen released! There are a already few torrent release of the BRRip version on the internet, but some of them are not really BRRip, get the one from Wrath or SecretMyth, true AC3, 5.1 and it just under 4GB. Of course you can choose to download the 720p Blu-ray version which about 8.2GB.

Best of all, purchase the Blu-ray and support the movie!

Rise of the Gargoyles 2009 Review

A movie about Gargoyles, what are they thinking??? B-grade movie with B-grade actor and acting, I think Director of the movie should treat viewer with some respect, not all viewer are brainless, please put some intelligence into the movie , same old storyline, people get killed by monster, police do not believe, main actor have to take the matter in his own hand, worse of all, the main actor is a suppose to be a Professor who teach History but shoot like a NYPD cop, what the f*x#!, and why in the face of danger, the reaction of the actor is so stun and slow, it does not appeal in real life, real people do not react like that. The fear will overcome all common sense, and you are suppose to run for your life or weak on your knee, not standing there admiring the creature...

Not all is doom, special effect on the Gargoyle is not bad, but there are too little shot on the creature to leave a impact.

The Last Remnant PC - Playthrough

Fantasy game! Great game-play, graphic, soundtrack, OK, the storyline is a bit cheesy and bland, but they do have their climate, up and down, 'spoiler->' who will expect Emma to die! just when you think the game is coming to end, here come the 'Enlightened Seven', and just when you think you trash the game, the Extra Mission will bash you down and you need to grind again...

Forget about the gamespot rating, I will give a 9.5 out of 10, I will recommend to anyone who love a great JPRG game on PC, but be prepare and patient to spend first 2 hours of boring training and up level till you got at least 3 union, that where the fun start! Well at least till Final Fantasy XII is out and there is a PC version...

Crystal Report Vs FastReport Vs StimulsoftReport

Despite on how much people dislike Crystal Report, I think it still do the trick and get the job done. Simple task like creating business object, purchase order, Invoice are a breeze to Crystal Report, it not that hard on FastReport though, StimulsoftReport require some learning curve.

Try to do a sample group PO by pages, and Crystal report come up as easy as 123, FastReport/Stimulsoft all require a second pass to calculate the page no. and sometime they don't display the page count correctly.

Small footprint and speed is what I like about FastReport, easy to deploy, nice skin, and great end-user report designer included. Crystal report that come with Visual Studio is great, but lack punch and features (no end-user designer capability).

Bear in mind, I'm new to all reporting tools, but Crystal Report seems to have a easier learning curve, and the object properties/displacement make sense to a newbie like me.

The Hills Run Red 2009 Review

Well, just finished the movie, and by all mean, it not that bad, but the whole movie make no sense, don't expect too much. The ending is awful, "spoiler->" what happen to the guy? he go mad or he become the next babeface? are there going to be a sequel? So many question unanswered....

Rating 3/5, can skip if you don't have much of a time.
